Generation Nordic 2026
Faroe Islands, 12 - 15 September 2026
A Nordic youth event on collaboration, innovation and sustainable development
NORA works strategically to mobilise young people across the Nordic region by prioritising innovative and sustainable initiatives that reflect young people’s interests, engagement and ideas. With a strong focus on regional development, entrepreneurship and youth engaging projects, NORA creates platforms where young people can meet, exchange experiences and build networks across countries and regions.
As part of this effort, NORA is organising the youth event Generation Nordic 2026, which will take place in the Faroe Islands from 12–15 September 2026.
What is Generation Nordic 2026?
Generation Norden 2026 builds on the success of Generation North Atlantic 2024, where young people from the North Atlantic came together to explore shared challenges and opportunities. The evaluation of the previous event showed a clear demand for a continuation of the format – this time aimed at young people from across the entire Nordic region.
The event provides participants with hands-on experience in project development and entrepreneurship, and introduces them to practical approaches to sustainable business development, innovation and community development, with the Faroe Islands as a case. Through cross-border collaboration, participants will develop ideas for realistic initiatives and policy input from a Nordic perspective.
Why Generation Nordic?
The Nordic countries share many common challenges and opportunities – particularly when it comes to sustainable development, innovation and the future of local communities. Generation Norden 2026 aims to strengthen young people’s sense of Nordic belonging and create new connections across national borders.
As a participant, you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain a deeper understanding of Nordic cooperation and why it matters
- Share experiences and perspectives with young people from across the Nordic region
- Build new connections and networks that extend beyond the event itself
- Turn ideas into practical proposals and solutions
- Find inspiration to stay engaged in Nordic initiatives and projects
Where and when?
Where: Faroe Islands
When: 12–15 September 2026
The first day is dedicated to travel and a welcome event where participants can meet and get to know one another. The following two days make up the main programme, including workshops, company visits and shared activities. The final day focuses on reflection, presentations and departure.
The programme includes visits to Faroese companies and organisations within areas such as aquaculture, tourism, entrepreneurship and culture. In addition, workshops will focus on project development and idea generation.
Who is the event for?
The primary target group is young people aged 18–30 from across the Nordic region, including participants from larger cities, peripheral areas and small communities. Emphasis is placed on broad geographical representation and diversity in participants’ backgrounds, interests and experiences.
