Invasive arter i nordiske øsamfund – forebyggelse og tidlig indsats

Programmet for småsamfund i Norden (SSN) inviterer hermed relevante fagmiljøer, konsortier og institutioner til at byde ind på gennemførelsen af et nordisk projekt om invasive arter i øsamfund.
Projektet har til formål at styrke arbejdet med forebyggelse, tidlig opdagelse og hurtig indsats (Early Detection and Rapid Response) i udvalgte nordiske øsamfund: Åland, Bornholm, Færøerne, Grønland og Island.
Invasive arter udgør en væsentlig trussel mod biodiversitet, naturgrundlag og samfundsøkonomi, og øsamfund er særligt sårbare. Projektet skal bidrage med konkret viden og anbefalinger til, hvordan myndigheder og relevante aktører kan arbejde mere effektivt med at forebygge og håndtere introduktion og spredning af invasive arter.
Projektet forventes bl.a. at omfatte
- Kortlægning og analyse af eksisterende lovgivning, handlingsplaner og biosecurity-indsatser
- Identifikation og vurdering af de vigtigste introduktionsveje (pathways) for invasive arter
- Udarbejdelse af anbefalinger til effektive og realistiske forvaltningsindsatser
- Vidensdeling og erfaringsudveksling mellem de deltagende øsamfund
- Udarbejdelse af rapport, implementerings- og kommunikationsplaner, og policy briefs
Der lægges vægt på anvendelsesorienterede resultater, som kan understøtte myndighedernes arbejde i praksis – særligt i mindre administrationer med begrænsede ressourcer.
Målgruppe for projektets resultater er primært nationale og lokale myndigheder, herunder naturforvaltninger, kommuner og relevante sektormyndigheder, samt beslutningstagere.
Projektets samlede budget kan være op til 800.000 DKK.

Call 1: Invasive Species in Nordic Island Communities – Prevention and Early Detection and Rapid Response
The Nordic Small Communities Programme (SSN) hereby invites relevant expert environments, consortia, and institutions to submit proposals for carrying out a Nordic project on invasive species in island communities.
The purpose of the project is to strengthen efforts related to prevention, early detection, and rapid response (Early Detection and Rapid Response – EDRR) in selected Nordic island communities: Åland, Bornholm, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland.
Invasive species pose a significant threat to biodiversity, natural resources, and socio-economic conditions, and island communities are particularly vulnerable. The project is expected to generate practical knowledge and recommendations on how authorities and relevant stakeholders can work more effectively to prevent and manage the introduction and spread of invasive species.
The project is expected to include, among other elements:
- Mapping and analysis of existing legislation, action plans, and biosecurity efforts
- Identification and assessment of key introduction pathways for invasive species
- Development of recommendations for effective and realistic management measures
- Knowledge sharing and exchange of experience between participating island communities
- Preparation of a report, implementation and communication plans, and policy briefs
Emphasis will be placed on applied, practice-oriented results that can support the work of authorities—particularly in smaller administrations with limited resources.
The primary target group for the project results includes national and local authorities, such as environmental agencies, municipalities, relevant sector authorities, and policymakers.
The total project budget may amount to up to DKK 800,000.
