Where Art Meets the Ocean – Visit the National Gallery

Would you like to see a great selection of Faroese masterpieces? Join us for a guided visit to the National Gallery of the Faroe Islands (Listasavn Føroya), beautifully located in Gundadalur in Tórshavn.

We begin with a short walk downhill from Hotel Føroyar, offering panoramic views of Tórshavn and the island of Nólsoy. The gallery’s distinctive basalt building, covered with grass, blends naturally into the landscape. The visit includes a guided tour of the permanent collection with a focus on the representation of the sea in Faroese art, followed by the special exhibition called "Eftirmyndir", which presents new interpretations of the ocean in contemporary works.

After the 45-minute tour, participants will have time to explore the gallery independently and enjoy a cup of coffee in the foyer.

Departure: 13:00 from Hotel Føroyar. The tour ends at the museum around 15:00

Historic Kirkjubøur Beach Cleanup – Explore and Give Back

Plastic accumulating in our oceans and on our beaches has become a global crisis. Billions of pounds of plastic can be found in swirling convergences that make up about 40 percent of the world's ocean surfaces. At current rates plastic is expected to outweigh all the fish in the sea by 2050. Plastic is also a problem on the beaches around the Faroe Islands. Therefore, will we together with the local NGO, Rudda Føroyar, give a hand and clean one of the local beaches.

The plan is to clean the beach at the historic village of Kirkjubøur, but the location may change depending on the weather.

Remember to bring warm clothing and practical shoes that can get dirty.

Departure: 13:00 by bus from Hotel Føroyar. Return to the hotel expected around 15:30

Number of guests: 15 persons
