About Nora

Strategic Programme 2021-2024

NORA (Nordic Atlantic Cooperation) is an intergovernmental organisation under the regional cooperation programme of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Since 1996, NORA has worked to strengthen the cooperation between the private sector and other stakeholders in the four constituents of the NORA area: the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and coastal Norway. NORA’s overarching goal is to contribute to the creation of a strong and dynamic North Atlantic region that is defined by its strong and sustainable economies. The North Atlantic region is an integral part of the Arctic. As such, its challenges — as well as geographical and social conditions — are similar to those across the Arctic. The Nordic countries’ western neighbours, especially Canada and Scotland, are considered to be natural partners in NORA activities.

The Strategic Programme 2021–2024 is NORA’s governing document over the next four years. The strategy gives direction to NORA’s initiatives and activities, which will be set out in annual action plans.
